Our case for support
Supporting artists as vital, meaningful members of our community makes Atlanta better. It makes us individually better. Art inspires, gives meaning, connects us as people, and sparks important conversations.
What your membership supports
Memberships support the mission of Sanctuary and the general life of the organization and building, including:
Fellows Program
Fundraising need: $80,000- 5 artists given basic income support of $1,000 per month for one year
- Production costs to produce one piece showcasing the talents and collaboration of the cohort
Artist Residencies
Fundraising need: $5,000- Two residencies for two weeks each
- Weekly stipend of $500, and $1,500 to pay additional artists as needed and/or pay for any production needs outside of lighting & chairs (actors, designers, etc. for a culminating public reading)
- Two weeks of lodging in the Sanctuary apartment with use of the space during that time
Sanctuary Events and Programming
- Artist–Community Dinners
- Periodic small music events
- Periodic readings of plays, poetry, and book events
- Ongoing art gallery openings and events
- Space for artists to rehearse and workshop plays, screenplays, dance and music
